Sarajevo 2014 Youth Camp Activities Proposal
Non-violence and peace are essential for the
future of humankind. What better place is there to
foster a culture of peace and non-violence with
and for the youth than Sarajevo: a city that
serves as a symbol for the last 100 years for
having been the scene of the event that is often
regarded as having triggered World War I, and for
having been place of so much suffering during the
war in Bosnia and Herzegovina two decades ago.
Nowadays Sarajevo is the capital of a war-torn
multicultural society being rebuilt, in the heart
of a region where men and women strive to overcome
the scars of wars that accompanied the breakup of
the former Yugoslav Federation.
