CPNN received the following comments from Dr. Deri Joy Ronis, the author of \"Bridging the Gap to Peace\":

Here we are in the year 2011, the 21st century, the age of enlightenment, and yet we are still experiencing a world where divisiveness and surreal events with the world economy are escalating.  Does any of this signal a time to wake up?

The old questions, if not now, when, if not you, who symbolize a time to make significant changes?  These changes are personal and political; spiritual and material.  If life is temporary, and we are here for a short span, how do we want to be remembered?

Some people never think of these questions until they are forced to.  With all of the uncertainty in the world, we would be wise to ask ourselves, what is really going on?  Just as many rebelled in other times of chaos,  we are now coming face to face with challenges particular to our era.  Where we once feared the Cold War, a nuclear holocaust or biological terrorism, we now wonder if the economy will ever stabilize.  Maybe this meltdown is happening to help us reorganize our priorities.  Tsunami’s, earthquakes, tornadoes and the like are not predictable and thus our lives can be snuffed out in a second by natural disasters.

We are left to ponder, just how did things get this way?  How much say do we have as individuals? Whatever happened to a government of, for and by the people?  How are my representatives representing my concerns?  Are they going without health insurance?  Is the conspiracy theory true that the Trilateral Commission controls what happens in our world?

People everywhere want to know how they will survive if their economy does not improve.  In what ways has society become an addict?  Many young people are dying due to an overdose of prescription pain medication.  Surely, we are being tested collectively to see how our species will respond to this crisis.  Maybe we would be better off if we went back to a barter, cashless society.  It might cause more turmoil in the short run, however as we continue to be tested we are wondering, what else is there?  Margaret Mead said it only takes a small group of people to make bold changes.  History reminds us that other civilizations have crumbled.  I believe those who feel intuitively led to prevent that will now heed the call
