	Fondation Idolè and the Culture of Peace an article by Mme IdolХ To promote the culture of peace in Cameroon, the Foundation Idolè ( FONI) has especially worked in the field of education. It has thus involved the children of ex-prisoners and women abandoned by their husbands, providing them with professional training like clothing manufacture, as well as in the Center "the Roots Awaken" (CEVRA), a structure of alternative education for primary education as well as kindergarten. It also set up at the Kony Foundation (FONKO), a structure which involves boys (the girls are lodged separately at FONI), including the sons boys of ex-prisoners and which provides schooling and professional training like mechanics. click on photo to enlarge The Foundation also encourages through FONI the promotion of the culture of peace. It awards annual prizes to deserving pupils of the elementary schools of the villages of Bwambè and Large-Batanga as well as the college of Grand-Batanga. Such are the activities carried out by the FONI at the present time in favour of the culture of peace. We should promote our cultural values by interacting with each other and making these values part of our daily lives. A good example of this would be raising our children according to beliefs and values which are important for us and our cultural peace. We can also promote cultural peace by making small commuinties within big community and share different ideas and bring new ones in.
