United Youth

Young people are often associated with apathy and ignorance. The common portrayal of young people in worldwide media are often centered around negative images of violence and the like. Many positive stories of youth making a positive difference in our world remain behind the curtain.

The Hague International Model UN Youth Assembly (TYA) provides an inspiring exemplification of how young people from around the world can unite and work together productively with a vision for a more peaceful world. TYA is an international conference that brings together youth aged between 16 and 25 and provides a platform for them to have their voice heard, and empowers them to turn their ideals into reality.

Each year, appoximately 40 participants from all corners of the globe converge at the main conference, for an experience of a lifetime. Participants work in groups of nine to fifteen, discuss alarming problems such as HIV/AIDS, and issues relating to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), come up with different ideas and formulate project plans. Each participant is expected to implement at least one project in their respective country aiming to bring a positive change to their community. ]

Year after year, TYA continues to educate and inspire global youth to initiate positive changes, and stands as a testament to the bright future that awaits our world. It is an opportunity that every young person should aim to make the most of. For more information on the program and find out how you can get involved, check out http://thimunyouthnetwork.org/..
