	In Côte d'Ivoire Traditional Chiefs Resolve to Promote National Reconciliation an article by Afriquinfos Over 140 traditional chiefs met together at Daloa in the center-west of Côte d'Ivoire on August 14 and resolved to promote national reconciliation and social cohesion in the country. click on photo to enlarge At the conclusion of the three-day meeting, the traditional authorities committed themselves to do their part in the process of post-crisis reconstruction in the country. "We must get involved in education for a culture of peace and encourage the values that promote harmony and non-violence among the various communities, declared Koudou Gra, the supreme chief of the Krou people who live in the western part of Côte d'Ivoire. In his opinion, justice and peace must live in the hearts of all Ivoriens so that the country can develop in tranquility. Côte d'Ivoire is trying to recover normality after the bitter post-electoral crisis that shook the country during five months. Reconciliation, public safety and reconstruction are the major challenges facing the government of Ouattara.
