	Medical Students in the spirit of culture of peace an article by Diana Stefanova Tashkova Founded in 1951, The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) is one of the world’s oldest and largest independent organization representing associations of medical students worldwide. It currently maintains 108 National Member Organizations from more than 100 countries across six continents with over 1,2 million young activists and it is cultivating a global network of activists. One of its aims is to expose all medical students to humanitarian issues, providing them with the opportunity to educate themselves and to facilitate partnerships between the physician in training community and international organization working on health, education and social issues. The spirit of IFMSA click on photo to enlarge By Professional and Research medical exchanges students from six continents promote cultural understanding and co-operation amongst youths and all health professionals. Numerous of exchange programs are realized between colleagues from the whole world which aim is to introduce the student to the health care challenges at the host country and how to treat patients in different cultural settings. The standing committee of Human Rights and Peace(SCORP) is committed to areas as human rights, access to education , migration, discrimination, equality, mobility, orphanage initiative, poverty. There is a the standing committee of Public Health (SCOPH) where future doctors are fighting against chronic disease, infectious diseases, malaria, climat change, awareness strategies for pollution from industries, peace test, sexuality of disabled children, regional integration, environment. Medical students are also involved in the edition of magazines” PeriSCOPE”-sharing experience of international clerkship programs,SCORAlicios- which themes concerne the field of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS,Morning SCOPHian- Public health, etc. The spirit of IFMSA has always been a spirit of culture of peace and all the actions are powered by enthusiasm, comprehension and tolerance.
