The 13th edition of the Festival of Cultures was launched Saturday, 27 May, by a parade of various sociocultural groups on the boulevard along the sea of Libreville. According Mr. Oniwin, this year's Festival, for which the theme is "inter-culturality for peace" is dedicated to the objective of a harmonious interaction among all the persons and cultural identities that exist in Gabon.

For the Minister, this Festival provides an opportunity to draw the attention of politicians to support the integration and participation of all citizens in a cohesive society.

"The challenge for inter-culturality is to promote the sustainable development of our populations and our country, based on a culture of peace through understanding and respect of the other," according the the president of the organizing committee, Michèle Bitounga Angoume.

In addition to the traditional activities of dance, culinary art and games, the Festival of Cultures added this year the outdoor projection of films, theatrical performances and a concert of popular music.
