	Projet de festival international de marionnettes an article by Michel Thouzeau Le groupe de travail "la culture de la paix" à l'UNESCO/ONG a proposé un festival international de marionnettes pour le 21 septembre 2013 journée internationale de la paix de l'an prochain. click on photo to enlarge Il invite les jeunes, les amateurs et les professionnels du monde entier à créer des marionnettes et un spectacle de 15 minutes maximum sur le thème de la paix au sens large en s'inspirant des huit points de la décennie 2001-2010 (culture de paix par l’éducation, développement durable, droits de l'homme, égalité hommes/femmes, participation démocratique, tolérance & solidarité, libre circulation de l'information, désarmement & sécurité). The question I would raise is where are the visual artists who have produced a Guernica like painting of Felluja? Paintings last longer than photographs which are too often fleeting. Do the poets against the war meet annually? I caught a bit of an interesting tv show which featured world class artists such as Wole Soyinka speaking in Israel/Palestine about ways to further the peace movement there. Did anyone else see the entire show? I hope a local Peace Day could emulate the UN opening ceremony .
