	The Women of Mali Engage for Peace an article by Mali Actualités The Network for Peace and Security of Women of ECOWAS / Mali in partnership with the Gender Unit of MINUSMA and UN Women has launched this morning [August 15], through the urban district of Bamako, a popular mobilization called'' Caravan of peace, social cohesion and national stability.'' It stopped in markets and public squares with messages of peace, non- violence and social cohesion in communities. The messages conveyed insisted that the protection of national sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of the country must be carried out in peace. The caravan ended at the Labour Exchange in a meeting chaired by the mayors of Commons III and IV of the District of Bamako. According to these local officials, women pay the highest price when peace and social cohesion are lacking. They expressed their wish to see the women persevere in their effort to raise awareness of the Malian people to the culture of peace and tolerance. The caravan is part of the implementation of the action plan of the Network for Peace and Security for Women in the ECOWAS area. Before the end of the month the network plans to hold similar caravans in each region in order to support the peace process in Mali.
