France: 12th Forum "Non-Violence in Schools"

The Coordination for education for non-violence and peace
organizes every year its annual Forum "Non-violence in schools."
This year, the 12th Forum theme will be: "I DECLARE PEACE WHY,
HOW? "It will take place on: Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 10h
to 17h, at the City Hall of the tenth arrondissement of Paris.

Morning: Theoretical time with a round table: approach and
accounts from teachers and educators, well as members of the
Coordination, who have implemented nonviolent methods in their
class or association.
The afternoon will be dedicated implementation of the methods
considered in the morning.

During the Asian Educators Symposium, we found out that Peace Education is still not part of the school curriculum in most countries. However, the participating teachers have been incorporating peace education in their teaching subjects, such as English, social studies, and character education. We all agreed that love and the will to nurture peace in children are the most important basis for peace education. Even if peace education is not a part of the curriculum, peace can be taught through any subject. Whatever you are teaching, if it comes from the heart, then it will touch the minds of children.
